Dizzy Gillespie - Sonny Side Up [Verve Vault Series]

This excellent sextet session by the great trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie(1917-93) was recorded for Verve in New York City on December 19, 1957 with Sonny Rollins(tenor sax); Sonny Stitt(tenor sax); Ray Bryant(piano); Tommy Bryant(bass) and Charli Persip(drums). Gillespie has a vocal on 'On The Sunny Side Of The Street'. The four memorable tracks feature three standards and a Stitt original. Highlights include the 14-minute 'The Eternal Triangle' and the standard 'I Know That You Know'.
